Mr. Fok welcomed the executive board members, with a special acknowledgment of the newly appointed members: Ms. Buyandelger Peljee, an Executive Board member of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee and former Executive Director of the Ulaanbaatar East Asia Youth Games Organizing Committee, where esports debuted as an official medal event, and Mr. Kim Youngman, President of the Korea eSports Association (KeSPA).

Outlining the objectives of the meeting, Mr. Fok emphasized AESF’s role as the sole authority for esports in Asia, recognized by and operating under the guidance of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). He highlighted AESF’s ongoing dialogues with the OCA in response to the rapidly evolving esports landscape, particularly following esports' inclusion in the Asian Games. These discussions align with the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) growing focus on esports, including its recent statement on the esports agenda and the establishment of the Olympic Esports Games 2025.

The executive board also reviewed the final report on the findings of the Esports IF/AF Governance Model Research conducted by the Task Force. The research outlined best practices and methodologies for AESF’s governance model, including recommendations for its Commissions, to ensure a structured and sustainable approach for esports governance in Asia.
