AESF Elects New Leadership

Hong Kong, China, 7 April 2025 – The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) convened its Electoral General Assembly (EGA) virtually on 6 April 2025. The EGA was attended by AESF Executive Board members, representatives from 38 AESF Member Associations, and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Deputy Director General Mr. Vinod Tiwari. The EGA, chaired by AESF President Mr. Kenneth Fok, was held for the purpose of electing the federation’s new leadership, including the President, Vice Presidents for the five Asian zones, and Executive Board Members.


Mr. Fok opened the session by observing a moment of silence in solidarity with the Myanmar Esports Federation and extended his condolences and support to the families affected by the recent earthquakes in Myanmar and neighbouring countries.


In his welcome address, Mr. Fok expressed gratitude to all attendees, especially those who had supported him throughout his two-term tenure as AESF President since 2017. He highlighted that under his leadership, AESF established the foundation for esports governance in Asia as the continent’s sole governing body. The AESF has since expanded its membership to 38 countries and regions, with 30 of them recognized by their respective National Olympic Committees (NOCs). Mr. Fok also emphasized AESF’s contributions to the Olympic Movement through its involvement as Technical Delegate in major multi-sport events, including the Asian Games, SEA Games, Gulf Games, East Asian Youth Games, and Asian Youth Games. He extended his full support to the incoming leadership and expressed his commitment to continued collaboration for the benefit of the Asian esports community. He congratulated all candidates and wished them success.



Mr. Vinod Tiwari of the OCA called the EGA as a critical step toward the future of Asian esports. He encouraged members to make wise decisions in electing leaders who would shape the growth of the Asian esports community. He offered his best wishes to all candidates and looked forward to a meaningful conclusion of the EGA.




The EGA proceeded with voting by 30 AESF Full Members. Based on the results, Mr. Santi Lothong from Thailand, President of the Thailand Esports Federation and the sole eligible presidential candidate, was elected with 22 votes, securing a simple majority for the President position.


The elected Vice Presidents for the five zones in Asia are:

  • Mr. Doniyorkhon Djuraev from Uzbekistan for Central Asia region
  • Mr. Youngman Kim from the Republic of Korea for East Asia region
  • Mr. Lokesh Suji from India for South Asia region
  • Mr. Do Viet Hung from Vietnam for Southeast Asia region
  • Mr. Saeed Sharaf from Syria for West Asia region


The elected Executive Board Members are:

  • Mr. Lau Chiu from Hong Kong, China
  • Mr. Eddy Lim Che Chien from Indonesia
  • Mr. Joebert Yu from the Philippines
  • Mr. Turki Al Fawzan from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Mr. Mekan Eyeberdiyev from Turkmenistan


Mr. Santi Lothong, the President-elect of AESF, expressed his gratitude to all who supported him and affirmed his commitment to continue the federation’s leadership and drive it forward.


He emphasized his dedication to collaborating with the newly elected board members and seeking their cooperation in fulfilling the responsibilities for the advancement of the esports industry in Asia. Mr. Lothong also looks forward to working closely with the Olympic Council of Asia, as well as to continued progress, unity, and solidarity in Asian esports.


Congratulations to the new members of the AESF Executive Board (2025-2029).
