The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) women’s event at the Asian Esports Games (AEG) 2024 concluded in spectacular grand finale, setting new milestones for women’s esports in Asia. This groundbreaking competition, the largest of its kind in the region, featured 20 national teams from across Asia, including debut appearances from China, Iran, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.

Among the newcomers, Team China emerged as the dark horse of the event, competing in their first international competition and defying expectations to secure the bronze medal. With less than six months of experience and training as a national team, their impressive performance signals the potential to challenge the dominant Southeast Asian teams in the future.

Team Indonesia reaffirmed their reign as the strongest women’s MLBB team in the region and on the international stage, clinching the gold medal with a 4-2 victory against Team Philippines in a thrilling best-of-seven final. Meanwhile, Team Philippines, Indonesia’s fiercest rival, earned the silver medal after an intense battle, showcasing their skill and resilience.

The winners were celebrated in a grand victory ceremony, with TESF President Mr. Santi Lothong presenting the medals and AESF COO Mr. Steve Kim awarding the flower bouquets. With the MLBB women’s event wrapped up, the AEG continues with the Arena of Valor event featuring nine national teams and the eFootball event with 23 national teams, promising more unforgettable moments in this celebration of esports excellence across Asia.
