Seoul, Republic of Korea, 7 August 2023 – The EA Sports FIFA Online 4, which marked the grand finale of the Road to Asian Games 2022 events, has concluded on August 6, 2023, in Seoul, Republic of Korea. This event is one of the 7 game titles that will be contested at the 19^th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

This high-stakes competition brought together 34 national athletes from 21 countries and regions across Asia, who engaged in fierce battles while showcasing their remarkable skills.

Renowned for its dynamic gameplay and strategic football action, FIFA Online 4 provided a comprehensive platform for these committed athletes to showcase their abilities and enthusiasm on the grand stage. The grand finale was witnessed by cheering crowds of fans, spectators, and officials, who provided strong support for their favourite national athletes. Here are the highlights of the competition:

WEST ASIA

Athletes from the West Asia group participated in their first-ever FIFA Online 4 competition. They had prior experience in various FIFA23 competitions in their local leagues; however, this was their debut in FIFA Online 4 on an international stage. With modest expectations for the outcome, their primary goal was to give their best effort.

Nonetheless, Saudi Arabia’s “AboMakkah10” saw this as an opportunity and capitalized on the fact that other West Asia athletes lacked experience in the game. With great enthusiasm, he aimed for victory and put in his utmost effort. Before coming to South Korea, he extensively studied FIFA Online 4 tournaments and competitions to gain insights, tactics, and skills, dedicating an entire day to practice. His hard work and determination paid off as he emerged as the winner for the region, securing the top rank.

CENTRAL ASIA

The Central Asia group engaged in a fierce and intense competition with closely-fought football matches. The games were full of excitement, marked by skilful play. The athletes showcased incredible talent and sportsmanship, delivering exceptional performance.

UcaShammy from Uzbekistan showcased an impressive record of victories. He held a strong lead in most of his games against other athletes and went neck-and-neck in his last match against Zhasik of Kazakhstan. However, with his perseverance and determination, he managed to secure a well-deserved win and earned the Top Rank of the Central Asia group.

SOUTH ASIA

The South Asia group witnessed thrilling and interesting matches between the talented contenders. SRI's "Dishi" showed his prowess with an early 2-0 victory against BAN's "Rabby", while IND's "Charan" impressed the audience with remarkable game-play against NEP's "Notorious1", who emerged victorious in their intense match. The highlight of the day was the neck-and-neck encounter between Charan and Dishi, with Charan clinching a close 2-1 victory.

Charan's exceptional journey in the South Asia group demonstrated his unwavering dominance. His remarkable skill and determination secured him the Top Rank of the group.

SOUTHEAST ASIA

The Southeast Asia group delivered a fascinating and intense FIFA Online 4 competition. This group boasts some of the most experienced players in FIFA Online 4, with half of the athletes hailing from the pro-league FIFA Online 4 championships, mainly based in Thailand.

Despite the intense rivalry among the five different countries in the group, the action on the virtual pitch was dominated by THA’s athlete, "THAxTDKeane", who displayed his formidable skills by emphasizing a defensive approach and applying intense pressure on his opponents. This strategy earned him the Top Rank in the group, closely trailed by impressive athletes from Vietnam.

EAST ASIA

The East Asia group witnessed some of the most intense competitive matches, featuring athletes who rank among the world's top players in FIFA Online 4 game title. The competition provided nail-biting moments for the audiences who were physically present at the scene, with matches characterized by their high level of competitiveness and intensity.

Notably, “Kwak” holds the position of the current number 1 player in Korea. With a wealth of experience and extensive exposure in the world of FIFA Online 4, he has successfully forged an unbeatable winning streak, solidifying his position as the top-ranked player in the East Asia group. His adept utilization of the “4-2-3-1 formation” tactics consistently proved effective in overcoming his opponents. Every athlete put up a strong fight, resulting in closely contested battles throughout the competition.
